Security Policy

Welcome to Yale Theater!

We are committed to providing a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment for all attendees, performers, and staff. By entering the venue, you agree to abide by all policies and procedures outlined here, as well as any additional event-specific policies disclosed in our “Know Before You Go” pre-event info or those posted upon arrival at the venue. Thank you for your cooperation in making Yale a safe place for everyone.

Code of Conduct

Guests are expected to comply with our Code of Conduct at all times. Disruptive, disorderly, or illegal behavior will result in immediate ejection from the venue without refund. Such behavior includes:

  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaping) inside the venue.

  • Intoxication or other signs of impairment that results in disorderly behavior.

  • Underage drinking or providing alcohol to a minor.

  • Fighting, taunting, or making threatening gestures.

  • The use of abusive, profane, or derogatory language.

  • Interfering with the event, performance, or other guests' enjoyment.

  • Entering restricted areas.

Entry and Screening

All guests are subject to search prior to entry. This may include, but is not limited to, the use of magnetometers (metal detectors), visual inspections of bags and personal belongings, and physical pat-downs.

  • Age Restrictions: All guests must comply with age limits. Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult for all shows. Additional limits may apply and these limits are disclosed at the time of ticket purchase.

  • Magnetometers/Metal Detectors: Guests who refuse screening will be denied entry.

  • Bag Policy: Only bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" are permitted. All bags are subject to search. Diaper bags and necessary medical bags are permitted but will be subject to thorough security inspection.

  • Prohibited Items: A list of prohibited items is detailed below. Guests will be asked to return prohibited items to their vehicle or dispose of them before entry. The venue does not provide storage for prohibited items.

Prohibited Items

For the safety of all guests, the following items are strictly prohibited inside the venue:

Weapons & Defense || Firearms, knives, box cutters, pepper spray, mace, brass knuckles, tasers, and any other items that could be considered a weapon or used to compromise safety.

Illegal Substances || Illegal drugs or narcotics, including paraphernalia.

Alcohol & Containers || Outside alcoholic beverages, bottles, cans, glass containers, thermoses, or coolers, including water bottles.

Outside Food & Drink || Outside food and drink and containers.

Bags || Backpacks, luggage, oversized bags (exceeding 12" x 6" x 12").

Signage & Visuals || Banners, flags, signs, poles, or sticks (unless otherwise specified for a particular event and pre-approved).

Noise Makers || Air horns, whistles, vuvuzelas, or any other unauthorized noisemakers.

Electronics & Cameras || Professional cameras (detachable lenses), video cameras, audio recording devices, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, or drones.

Personal Transport || Skates, skateboards, hoverboards, bicycles.

Other || Laser pointers, chains exceeding wallet chains (12 inches), sharp objects, fireworks, aerosol cans, and unapproved costumes or masks covering the face.

Note: Venue management reserves the right to prohibit any item not listed above that is deemed dangerous or a security risk.

Re-Entry Policy

Our venue enforces a strict No Re-Entry Policy. Once a guest has exited the venue, re-entry will not be permitted. Please ensure you have all necessary belongings before exiting. Exceptions may be made for medical emergencies and must be approved by venue management prior to exit.

Personnel and Law Enforcement

Our security team and trained staff are present at all events. Uniformed and plainclothes law enforcement personnel may also be present. Please report any suspicious activity or concerns to the nearest venue staff member immediately.

Emergencies and Evacuation

In the event of an emergency, please remain calm and follow the directions of venue staff, security personnel, and local law enforcement. Emergency exit routes are clearly marked throughout the facility.

This security policy is subject to change without notice based on the specific requirements of an event, promoter, artist management, or heightened security risks. Venue Management has the final say on all security-related matters.
